🚨 SOUTH AFRICAN TECH LEADER BEHIND A R2.4 BILLION BUSINESS CONFIRMS MOVE TO AUSTRALIA, SPARKING FRESH DEBATE ABOUT THE COUNTRY’S BRAIN DRAIN 🚨
One of South Africa’s most respected technology executives, Grant Fraser, has confirmed that he is relocating to Australia after leading one of the country’s biggest tech success stories.
Fraser served as the Group Managing Director of Netstar, a leading South African vehicle tracking and telematics company owned by Altron. During his leadership, Netstar grew to generate approximately R2.48 billion in annual revenue while expanding its customer base to more than 2 million subscribers across several markets.
According to reports, Fraser had planned to emigrate before joining Netstar but postponed his move to help lead the company’s transformation and international expansion. Following his departure, he has taken up a new position as Chief Executive Officer of Digital Matter, an Australian technology company that develops GPS and Internet of Things (IoT) tracking solutions.
His decision has reignited discussions about South Africa’s growing brain drain, with many questioning whether the country is doing enough to retain highly skilled professionals and experienced business leaders. Others argue that successful entrepreneurs and executives should be free to pursue opportunities wherever they believe they can grow both personally and professionally.
Do you think South Africa is losing too many top business leaders to overseas opportunities, or is this simply the reality of today’s global economy?
