BWACHA CONSTITUENCY ROADS TO GET FACE LIFT AT COST OF K5.1 MILLION
Government has allocated K5.1 million towards the rehabilitation of 47.5 Kilometers of roads in Bwacha Constituency in Kabwe District of Central province, under the 2023 Constituency Development Fund (CDF).
Kabwe District Planning Officer Bwalya Chikwanda said in an interview that the Kabwe Municipal Council has engaged the Zambia National Service (ZNS) to undertake the works in eight wards of the Constituency.
Ms Chikwanda said works in Kangomba ward have already commenced to lessen the mobility challenges that people in the area have been facing.
“The Council will spend K5, 183,631 on the road project. The works will be done in eight wards in Bwacha Constituency,” Ms Chikwanda said.
She said the scope of works involves the grading of roads in Kang’omba, Chimanimani, Kawama, Chililalila, Ben Kafupi, Zambezi, Moomba and Makululu Wards.
She said the local authority is working closely with ZNS to ensure that the works are of high quality.
Ms Chikwanda said the local authority will continue working with various stakeholders in order to meet the aspirations of the people in the district.
She said the increase in CDF allocation has made it possible for the municipality to effectively deal with the various challenges the residents of Kabwe have been facing in various sectors of the economy.
Ms Chikwanda further implored all contractors working on various Government projects under CDF to deliver the works in accordance with contractual specifications.
