RETIRED ARMY OFFICER AREESTED IN LUSAKA FOR ALLEGEDLY DEFILING HIS 15-YEAR-OLD MAID
A retired Zambia Army Officer only identified as Major Simutile has been arrested by the Zambia Police for suspected defilement of his 15 year old maid.
Major Simutile, 67, of Lusaka’s Makeni villa is alleged to have defiled the victim on several occasions between 2021 and 2023 at his house.
Zambia Police Deputy Public Relations Officer Danny Mwale says Major Simutile took advantage of the victim when all other family members were not around at home.
Mr. Mwale says the victim told officers that she sneaked out of the house after she saw the suspect advancing towards her and ran to the police station where she reported the matter.
He says the victim has been moved to a safe home and is currently undergoing medical treatment while the suspect is detained in custody waiting to be formally charged.
