People’s Pact Endorse ECL as its 2026 Candidate

The People’s Pact Alliance has endorsed the candidature of the former President Edgar Lungu to contest the 2026 presidential election.
Speaking during a press briefing held in Lusaka today , Green Party President Peter Sinkamba who spoke on behalf of the alliance, said that they have decided to endorse the former president because their research has found that many Zambians want Mr. Lungu to come back to power in 2026.
He has said the decision was made yesterday after they met Mr. Lungu who confirmed that he was willing to contest the presidential election in 2026.
Meanwhile United for Better Zambia president Hector Soondo has said that the alliance had resolved to campaign for Lungu for his comeback in the 2026 elections.
However, while the People’s Pact was endorsing Lungu, he was attending the UKA press conference in Woodlands this morning where he has pledged to remain as a committed member, according to sources within the Alliance.
