Patrice Motsepe re-elected as CAF president until 2029

Dr Patrice Motsepe has secured a second term as president of the Confederation of African Football (CAF), extending his leadership until 2029.

The South African billionaire, first elected in 2021, was unopposed in the CAF General Assembly vote held on March 13, 2025.

As the founder of African Rainbow Minerals, Motsepe has been instrumental in pushing for the development of African football. His renewed mandate offers him another four years to implement his vision for the continent’s footballing future.
