MALAWIAN MARKETING EXECUTIVE LINDA KACHINGWE-SISYA APPOINTED AS FNB SOUTH AFRICA’S NEW CHIEF MARKETING OFFICER IN MAJOR LEADERSHIP MOVE
First National Bank (FNB) South Africa has appointed Malawian-born marketing executive Linda Kachingwe-Sisya as its new Chief Marketing Officer (CMO), placing her at the helm of the bank’s marketing, corporate affairs and brand strategy.
The appointment marks a significant leadership milestone for one of South Africa’s largest banks. Kachingwe-Sisya succeeds Faye Mfikwe, who spent nearly two decades helping shape and strengthen the FNB brand.
With more than 20 years of experience in marketing and communications, Kachingwe-Sisya has built a career across the banking and consumer goods sectors, working in Southern, Eastern and Western Africa, as well as international markets including the United Kingdom, the United States, India and China.
She began her career at Unilever Zimbabwe before taking on regional leadership roles and later joined Standard Bank Group, where she held several senior marketing positions across multiple African regions.
In 2018, she joined Rand Merchant Bank (RMB) before moving into senior leadership within the FirstRand Group, where she oversaw marketing and communications for FNB and RMB’s Africa and international businesses. Her responsibilities covered retail and commercial banking, investment banking, wealth management, insurance, lending and digital banking.
As FNB South Africa’s new Chief Marketing Officer, Kachingwe-Sisya will lead the bank’s efforts to strengthen its brand, enhance customer engagement and guide its corporate communications strategy as the financial institution continues to grow in an increasingly competitive banking sector.
She holds a Bachelor of Social Science in Economics from the University of Malawi, a Master of Science in Strategic Management and Leadership from the University of Derby, and a Professional Diploma in Marketing from the Chartered Institute of Marketing.
