HH was on death row – Heriot Watt University
THE Heriot Watt University has claimed that President Hakainde Hichilema was arrested 15 times as leader of the opposition and was illegally detained for four months, including a period on death row, only to be saved after the international community demanded for his release.
According to the citation by Professor Richard Williams, the Principal and Vice Chancellor Heriot Watt University, President Hichilema was yesterday conferred with an honourary doctorate degree in recognition for services to the economic advancement of Zambia and its citizens.
