Tonse Pamodzi Alliance Lumezi North Parliamentary Candidate Clement Mwale Dies

The Tonse Pamodzi Alliance has announced the death of its Lumezi North parliamentary candidate, Clement Mwale, who passed away in the early hours of Thursday, July 16, 2026.
In a statement issued by Eastern Province Provincial Chairman Maxson Nkhoma, the alliance described Mr. Mwale as one of its most committed and hardworking members, saying his death is a great loss to both the party and the people of Eastern Province.
The party expressed its deepest sympathy and heartfelt condolences to the family of the late Mr. Mwale, as well as the people of Lumezi District, following his untimely passing.
Mr. Mwale was the Tonse Pamodzi Alliance parliamentary candidate for Lumezi North and previously served as Lumezi Council Chairperson from 2016 to 2021.
The alliance said Mr. Mwale will be remembered for his dedication and commitment to public service, noting that he worked tirelessly to improve the lives of the people he served during his tenure as council chairperson.
The party further announced that it will, in due course, formally notify the Returning Officer of the death of its parliamentary candidate in accordance with the relevant electoral procedures.
