POLICE ARREST BOWMAN LUSAMBO FOUND HIDING IN CEILING FOLLOWING CONVICTION

Former Kabushi Member of Parliament Bowman Lusambo has been apprehended by the Zambia Police Service after he was found hiding in the ceiling of his residence, following his recent conviction for unlawful wounding by the Luanshya Magistrate Court.

The court had issued a bench warrant for Lusambo’s arrest after he was convicted in absentia, mandating police to locate and present him for sentencing. Acting swiftly on the court’s directive, police officers located Lusambo at his home, where they discovered him concealed in the ceiling.

In a statement issued by Police Public Relations Officer Rae Hamoonga, the Zambia Police Service reiterated its commitment to upholding the law without bias. “The Zambia Police Service remains committed to enforcing the law impartially and ensuring that justice is served without fear or favor,” Hamoonga said. Lusambo is now in police custody and will be presented before the court as per legal requirements.

Authorities are calling on the public to respect the rule of law and support law enforcement as they work to maintain peace and order across the nation.
