Nkana MP Proposes Deal to UPND for By-Elections
Nkana Member of Parliament Binwell Mpundu, an independent, has made a proposal to the ruling United Party for National Development (UPND) regarding upcoming by-elections.
In a Facebook post, Mpundu addressed the UPND, stating, “I HAVE A PROPOSAL FOR YOU BA UPND SINCE YOU SEEM TO HAVE ALOT OF APPETITE FOR MORE SEATS IN PARLIAMENT.”
Mpundu went on to suggest that the UPND should “DROP THE NONSENSE ON JAY JAY,” implying that he would convince the other MP to resign, allowing the UPND to hold by-elections in both Nkana and Petauke constituencies.
Furthermore, Mpundu stated that he would also be willing to resign if the UPND proceeds with the nine by-elections they have planned, giving the party a total of 10 seats.
“INFACT I WILL ALSO RESIGN IF YOU PROCEED TO HAVE THOSE 9 BYE ELCTIONS SO THAT WE CAN GIVE YOU 10 SEATS IF YOU REFUSE TO TAKE MY PROPOSED DEAL ON HON JAY JAY,” Mpundu wrote.
