Cleaning Association of Zambia President Lawrence Makumbi has been arrested and detained after he exposed the happenings at the Zambia Airports Corporation.
He is currently detained at Ridgeway Police in Lusaka.
Police have charged him with libel against Zambia Airports Board Chairperson Zevyanji Sinkala.
Recently, Hot FM on its Red Hot Breakfast Show covered the mal administration at the Corporation as revealed in the 2023 Auditor’s Report on parastatals.
In the same news coverage, Mr Makumbi exposed the awarding of a K26 million contract to clean all international airports to Caribian Investment Limited, a company with no traceable experience in the cleaning sector.
Efforts to get a comment from Zambia Airports Board Chairperson Zevyanji Sinkala proved futile by broadcast time.
