Likumbi Lya Mize ceremony back after suspension
THE Likumbi Lya Mize traditional ceremony is back after five years of suspension owing to succession wrangles.
A petition filed by some members of the Ndungu Royal Establishment in the high court to halt the ceremony was thrown out on Tuesday.
North Western Province Minister Robert Lihefu confirmed the development and called upon the public to show up in numbers at the ceremony.
President Hakainde Hichilema is next Monday expected in Zambezi District to grace the much anticipated traditional ceremony.
This is just two weeks after gracing the Lunda Lubanza traditional ceremony in the same district.
“Let us come in numbers, it doesn’t matter where you come from, we are one, let’s celebrate each other’s ceremonies so we can learn more about our rich country,” said Lihefu.
