KAMFINSA RECOVERS K20,000 SQUANDERED CDF
Kamfinsa Constituency Development Fund (CDF) Committee has recovered K20,000 which was squandered by two cooperative leaders in Kitwe who connived to allegedly steal the money.
This was after the cooperative was selected to benefit from the 2023 CDF loan facility after applying for funding to venture into chicken rearing.
After the funds were sent into the cooperative’s bank account, the cooperative chairperson and secretary allegedly connived and withdrew the money, which they shared.
It is alleged that the two leaders were giving excuses of why they were unable to implement the project, prompting members to seek intervention from the CDF committee.
Investigations later revealed that the duo had allegedly withdrawn the money without the knowledge of members, prompting the committee to report them to the police.
Kamfinsa CDF Committee chairperson Pat Fube said in an interview yesterday that the two cooperative leaders allegedly misused the funds, and that one of them used the money to buy a dysfunctional vehicle.
