HEADMAN NKETANI ACCUSES MP OF NEGLECTING CONSTITUENCY
Headman Nketani in the Habbanyuka area of Pemba district has accused the area Member of Parliament, Lameck Hamwata, of neglecting his constituency.
Auditor Muyuni stated that many people in the area have lost faith in Hamwata, fearing this may lead to voter apathy in future elections.
Muyuni highlighted that residents of Habbanyuka Ward face several challenges, such as a lack of water and poor road conditions, which require the constant presence and guidance of the Member of Parliament.
However, Hamwata has dismissed claims that he is an absentee MP.
He asserted that he has been actively touring Habbanyuka Ward and holding development meetings with local leaders and the community.
Hamwata pointed to his achievements, including the rehabilitation and upgrading of a hand pump to a solar water scheme at Habbanyuka Clinic, drilling a borehole in Chisangu Village, constructing Hangoma School, and initiating road works in Habbanyuka.
