FORMER HUSBAND ALLEGEDLY KILLS WOMAN
A 44-year-old woman has allegedly been killed by her former husband in Chifunabuli district, Luapula Province.
And after a tipoff from the public, Police in SAMFYA apprehended VINCENT KUBEBA, the former husband, who was enroute to Lusaka aboard a public bus .
Luapula Commanding Officer, FWAMBO SIAME says the victim, ESTHER MATIYA was killed at the couples residence.
Mr SIAME says on July 1, at around 19:30 hours after the couple started fighting, Ms MATIYA asked her daughter and niece to leave the house and spend a night at a family friend’s home.
He says upon the children’s return the next day, they noticed the body of the deceased covered in a blanket, blood stained clothes and a blood stained pounding stick.
Mr SIAME told ZNBC News that the children then reported the matter to Chifunabuli Police post who later visited the crime scene and found the body of the deceased in a pool of blood.
He said the body of the deceased has since been deposited to Lubwe Mission Hospital mortuary and awaiting Post-mortem.
