FOREIGN SERVICE APPOINTMENT, NEVER MUMBA QUITS ACTIVE POLITICS..

Dr Nevers Mumba has announced his retirement from active partisan politics following an offer to serve in Zambia’s Foreign Service.



Dr Mumba has since resigned as President of the opposition New Nation Party (NNP), formerly known as the Movement for Multiparty Democracy (MMD).



He has also stepped aside from the Council of Presidents of the UPND Alliance, effectively bringing his active participation in partisan politics to an end

The former Vice-President is now expected to focus on his new role in the Foreign Service, marking a major shift in his long political career.



Mumba has been a prominent figure in Zambian politics for decades, having served as Vice-President and later as opposition party leader.
