ANDD MOURNS ECL

It is with profound sorrow and a heavy heart that Advocates For National Development and Democracy  mourns the passing of Zambia’s 6th Republican President, Dr. Edgar Chagwa Lungu.

ANDD extends its deepest condolences to the bereaved family, in particular former First Lady Mrs. Esther Lungu, the people of Zambia and the entire Patriotic Front leadership and membership during this painful time.

Dr. Lungu’s passing comes at a time when Zambia stands in urgent need of leadership that can rise above socio-economic divisions.

His leadership brought visible infrastructure development across the country, a legacy that will endure and serve as a benchmark for future efforts aimed at national progress.

As we reflect on Dr. Lungu’s contributions to our nation, we must also take this moment to embrace unity transcending political, economic, social, and tribal lines.

This period of mourning should prompt all Zambians, regardless of affiliation, to move away from the politics of hate, malice, and division. Instead, let us recommit ourselves to mature, action-oriented, and development-focused politics that prioritize the welfare of the majority.

As we grieve the loss of this gallant son of the soil, may we find strength in each other and stand together as one nation.

Let us mourn with the dignity befitting a former Head of State who devoted his life to serving and bettering the country he loved.

May the soul of Dr. Edgar Chagwa Lungu rest in eternal peace

Samuel Banda
ANDD Executive Director
