ACC seeks forfeiture of ‘Commander II’ properties

Anti-corruption Commission (ACC) has gone to court seeking permission to forfeit to the State seized houses and trucks belonging to businessman Francis Muchemwa, alias Commander II.

The commission wants to forfeit the properties because they are tainted as investigations revealed that the value of Mr Muchemwa’s assets is K13,169,735 while the worth of his legitimate sources was K4,934,912.

ACC investigations officer Claudia Chibiliti submits in the Economic and Financial Crimes Court that the businessman has unexplained wealth or assets suspected of being proceeds of crime worth K7.2 million.
