MUNDUBILE, MAKEBI ZULU TRANSPORTED TO SOLWEZI BY ROAD
Mundubile and Makebi Being taken to Solwezi by Road
Prison authorities and the Police are transporting leading presidential candidate, Brian Mundubile and his Running Mate, Majebi Zulu to Solwezi for the duo’s court appearance scheduled for Monday, 5th October 2026.
Last time the two leaders from the National Reconciliation Party for Unity and Prosperity (NRPUP) appeared before Principal Resident Magistrate Mambwe Mukonde.
However, the case was adjourned to October 5 and 6, 2026, for a formal plea and the potential commencement of the trial.
The sedition case stems from social media activity following the tense August 13 general election:
• Brian Mundubile is accused of making a Facebook post claiming that the NRPUP was leading the presidential race based on Parallel Vote Tabulation (PVT) data and demanding that the Electoral Commission of Zambia (ECZ) resume vote counting and announce the results.
• Makebi Zulu is accused of posting that Mundubile would shortly address the nation, urging the public to remain on standby.
