TONSE-PAMODZI ALLIANCE LEADERSHIP IN CONSULTATIONS OVER ELECTION RESULTS
EFF President Kasonde Mwenda says the Tonse-Pamodzi Alliance leadership has gone into deep consultations following the announcement of the election results, which he says have left many supporters disappointed and concerned.
Mwenda, who served on the Alliance’s Dubai Ballot Printing Observatory Mission and at the National Election Results Centre in Lusaka, has thanked Alliance President Brian Mundubile and the wider membership for their confidence and commitment throughout the electoral process.
He says many Alliance supporters believe the will they expressed at the ballot box has not been faithfully reflected in the announced outcome.
Mwenda alleges that the Alliance’s vote was stolen and that some supporters were intimidated and harassed during the election.
He says the leadership is now examining the available options and will communicate the next course of action on the announced results as soon as possible.
Mwenda has also revealed that efforts are underway to establish the whereabouts and welfare of some Alliance leaders and members whose presence the leadership has been unable to account for.
Despite the disappointment, he has called on supporters to remain peaceful and resilient.
Mwenda says the Alliance should not allow the current situation to define the end of its political journey, insisting that their hope remains alive.
He has ended on a message of faith, saying “it is not over until God says it’s over.”
He writes:
To our Tonse-Pamodzi Alliance President, Mr. Brian Mundubile , and the entire Alliance Executive,
I offer my heartfelt gratitude for the confidence and privilege you bestowed upon me to serve on the Dubai Ballot Printing Observatory Mission and on the National Election Results Centre Observatory Delegation at the Mulungushi International Conference Centre. It was an honour to serve our Alliance and our country in this important moment. I remain deeply appreciative of the trust you placed in me.
To the greater people of this great Republic of Zambia, and most especially to the remarkable membership of the Tonse-Pamodzi Alliance—ba mwana BM8—I salute you.
Thank you for the courage, determination and extraordinary spirit you demonstrated throughout this election. You stood up, you showed up, and you exercised your democratic right to vote. You carried the hopes and aspirations of countless Zambians with dignity and conviction. It’s unfortunate that our vote was stolen, our people intimidated and harassed.
Mwabombeni. Congratulations! 👏
Today, as the announced election results confront us with a moment of profound disappointment and concern, I know that many hearts are heavy. Many of us believe that the will we expressed at the ballot box has not been faithfully reflected in the outcome that has been announced.
But let us not despair. We have walked too far, endured too much and believed too deeply to allow this moment to define the end of our journey. We remain a people of faith, courage and resilience. We believe that God is not absent from this story, even when the road before us is difficult and uncertain.
It is not over, until God says it’s over, KALASANIKA PeLampi.
The Alliance leadership has retreated into deep consultations. The necessary processes are underway, and the leadership will communicate the next course of action regarding the announced election results as soon as possible.
We are also actively working to establish the whereabouts and welfare of leaders and members whose presence we have been unable to account for.
Above all, remain peaceful.
We have hope that refuses to die and Wherever we want to go our feet will take us there.
Kasonde Mwenda C
EFF President
