GOVERNMENT TO REDUCE NEXT YEAR’S CDF ALLOCATIONS
The government is tightening the purse strings! Finance Minister Dr. Situmbeko Musokotwane has announced plans to reduce next year’s Constituency Development Fund (CDF) allocations as part of efforts to control overspending and prevent the accumulation of debt.
The Treasury is expected to send revised, lower budgets to local authorities to curb excessive purchasing and promote responsible financial management
But what does this mean for communities? While the move aims to keep spending under control, many will be watching closely to see how the reduced allocations could affect local development projects, community infrastructure, and service delivery.
WHAT’S YOUR TAKE? Is cutting CDF allocations the right move to control public spending, or could it slow down development in our communities?
