When Power Gets to Your Head

When Power Gets to Your Head

The ministers who have failed to make it back to Parliament should become case studies in Political Science.

They became too big-headed, stopped listening and underestimated the consequences of losing touch with the people.

1. Health: dissatisfaction among medical personnel.

2. Transport: unresolved sector concerns, including Yango operators and truck drivers.

3. Local Government: persistent council problems and feeder-road frustrations.

4. Agriculture: problems in FISP and delays in paying farmers.

5 Mining: Sidelined contractors, Gave Mine Workers unions arms distance, greed around Mining dumpsites, Poor interpersonal skills with ” illegal miners”, mishandling of OB 19, Blackmountain and Senseli.

These were not merely ministerial problems. They ate into the Presidential vote.

The lesson for the new MPs and ministers is simple: power is borrowed from the people. Listen while you have the opportunity, because the electorate can take it back.

Today’s minister can become tomorrow’s political lesson.
