GOVERNMENT TO ADVISE ON THE FATE OF THE GRAVE
The Ministry of Information’s Permanent Secretary, Thabo Kawana, stated that the government will soon notify the nation about the fate of the unoccupied grave of the late former President Edgar Lungu at Embassy Park.
Kawana’s remarks followed the recent ruling by the South African Supreme Court, which gave Lungu’s family exclusive rights to his body.
He emphasized that the government respects the court’s decision and is carefully considering the next steps to ensure the matter is handled with the appropriate sensitivity and respect it warrants.
Lungu’s grave was excavated without proper consultation with his family.
