Zambia Continues to Suffer Isolation from the USA
…Zambia loses USA local visa services
Under a sweeping diplomatic overhaul by the U.S. State Department, active U.S. visa-processing locations across Africa are being consolidated from 50 sites down to 20 regional hubs located in 19 countries.
The 19 African countries retained as visa processing centers are:
1.Angola (Luanda)
2.Cameroon (Yaoundé)
3.Cape Verde (Praia)
4.Côte d’Ivoire / Ivory Coast (Abidjan)
5.Democratic Republic of the Congo (Kinshasa)
6.Djibouti (Djibouti)
7.Equatorial Guinea (Malabo)
8.Ethiopia (Addis Ababa)
9.Ghana (Accra)
10.Kenya (Nairobi)
11.Liberia (Monrovia)
12.Mauritius (Port Louis)
13.Nigeria (Lagos)
14Rwanda (Kigali)
15.Senegal (Dakar)
16.South Africa (Cape Town and Johannesburg) Note: South Africa is the only nation to retain two hubs
17.Tanzania (Dar-Es-Salaam)
18.Togo (Lomé)
19.Uganda (Kampala)
The restructuring directs applicants from countries losing local visa services (such as Botswana, Zambia, and Zimbabwe) to travel to these designated hubs, raising travel and logistical requirements.
You can track current wait times and find specific hub appointments on the official U.S. Department of State Travel portal
