UPND OFFICIAL DRAGS CHINESE NATIONAL TO POLICE AFTER SPITTING IN HIS BARBERSHOP

A Chambishi based Chinese National, Wang Haijun, 38, who is featured in a video that has gone viral on social media platforms in which he was being roughed up into a vehicle, is said to have spat in his Barbershop even after advised against the act.

Kitwe Central Police Station received a report from Copperbelt United Party for National Development-UPND Youth Chairman, Warren Hanyama, who was involved in the altercation.

Hanyama alleged that Haijun engaged in inappropriate behaviour within the Barbershop premises by spitting in public after smoking a cigarette and disregarding advice against such actions.

Police Public Relations Officer, Rae Hamoonga, says the report was corroborated by witnesses, resulting into intervention from other customers.

Hamoonga states that subsequently, Wang was taken to Kitwe Central Police Station, where he was charged for conduct, likely to cause a breach of peace.

He was detained for the offence and later released upon payment of an Admission of Guilty fine.

The incident occurred between 12:30 hours and 14:00 hours at Wang’s I Do Barbershop, located at ECL Shopping Mall.
