UN SET TO HAND OVER MUNDUBILE, MAKEBI ZULU TO POLICE.

Toonse Pamodzi Alliance Information Chairperson Emmanuel Mwamba says the United Nations is expected to hand over Brian Mundubile and Makebi Zulu to the Zambia Police today.

Mr. Mwamba has warned that if the UN proceeds with the alleged handover, it should be held responsible for whatever may happen to the two opposition figures.

He argues that Mundubile and Makebi Zulu’s decision to seek protection under the United Nations demonstrates that they believe their lives are in danger.

However, calls have also emerged from some Zambians urging the two to cooperate with the police and clear their names.

The Zambia Police Service has reportedly called out Mundubile and Makebi Zulu to assist with ongoing investigations concerning allegations linked to a militia group.

It remains unclear whether the United Nations will actually hand over the two men to police today, as claimed by Mr. Mwamba.
