UN Selects Zambia for Programme to Boost Local Processing of Critical Minerals
Zambia has been selected among six countries for a new United Nations programme aimed at helping mineral-rich nations capture more economic value by moving beyond the export of raw materials.
The programme will support local processing, stronger mineral value chains, policy and legal frameworks, as well as environmental and social protections. Zambia joins Zimbabwe, Guinea, Madagascar, Nigeria and Indonesia in the initiative, with copper at the centre of Zambia’s participation
