TI-Z INDICATE THAT 86% OF POLLING STATIONS RECORDED HIGH ADHERENCE TO VOTING PROCEDURES.

Transparency International Zambia monitored adherence to voting procedures at 160 polling stations across 115 constituencies.

The findings reveal that 86% of the monitored polling stations record high adherence to use of transparent ballot boxes, showing that ballot boxes are empty before voting commences.

TI-Z have also approved the checking of voters’ identification details against the voter register, the marking of voter’s thumbs after voting and following other prescribed voting procedures.

TI-Z has called upon the ECZ party agents, civil society organisations and international observers to remain vigilant.

TI-Z have announced that it “will continue monitoring developments across the country and will issue another adherence monitoring report following the close of polling stations.”
