THREE DEFEATS IN A ROW: LEICESTER CITY’S TOP SPOT UNDER THREAT AS DAKA RETURNS BUT FAILS TO INSPIRE

Patson Daka’s return to the Leicester City starting lineup on Saturday wasn’t enough to prevent the Foxes from falling to a 2-1 defeat against Queens Park Rangers at the King Power Stadium. This marks their third consecutive loss in the English Championship, putting their position at the top of the table in jeopardy.

Daka, who was an unused substitute in Leicester’s recent FA Cup win over Bournemouth, started the match against QPR. However, despite his presence, the Foxes couldn’t find their winning form. They went down by two goals before the the hour mark, with Benjamin Nelson scoring a consolation goal for Leicester city in 60th Minute.

Daka was substituted out in the 61st minute for veteran striker Jamie Vardy, but even Vardy’s experience couldn’t turn the tide as QPR held on to their lead and secured a valuable away victory.

This string of defeats has significantly impacted Leicester’s position in the Championship. The nine-point lead they once enjoyed has shrunk to a mere three points, with Ipswich Town breathing down their necks in second place with 75 points compared to Leicester’s 78.

With their top spot under threat, manager Enzo Maresca has a crucial task ahead. He needs to rediscover the winning formula quickly before their next match against Sunderland on Tuesday. While Sunderland is currently on a four-game losing streak, Leicester City cannot afford to take any opponent lightly. This could be a crucial opportunity for them to get back on track and regain their momentum in the race for promotion back to the Premier League.
