THE DAY PRESIDENT LUNGU WAS BLOCKED FROM TRAVELLING FOR SPECIALISED TREATMENT AND LATE DIED
The image here attached captures the late former President Edgar Lungu the day he was forcibly removed from a plane.
This incident, involving officials aligned with President Hakainde Hichilema’s administration, tragically prevented Lungu from traveling abroad to seek urgent medical treatment during a critical decline in his health.
Lungu, who served as President before President Hichilema, faced a rapidly deteriorating medical condition that required specialized healthcare unavailable locally.
Seeking treatment abroad was not a matter of convenience but an essential lifeline, one that could have offered advanced interventions potentially capable of saving his life.
This forced removal from the plane is emblematic of broader issues relating to bad governance and human rights abuse rampart under President Hichilema’s government.
Lungu died in June 2025, a death that should have been avoided and was more than just a personal tragedy; it was a moment that echoed throughout the country and beyond, demonstrating President Hichilema’s vengeful governing style.
