SUBDUED CAMPAIGN MOOD
Tonse-Pamodzi Alliance presidential candidate Brian Mundubile has noted that the current election season in Zambia is marked by an unusual and subdued mood, which he attributes to a nationwide lack of liquidity.
Speaking on BM8 Unfiltered, Mundubile explained that both ordinary citizens and political candidates are facing low disposable incomes, resulting in a less vibrant and less energetic campaign atmosphere than in previous elections.
This observation highlights the direct connection between a nation’s economic conditions and the level of political engagement.
Mundubile said that when people have limited financial resources, it not only affects their daily lives but can also dampen enthusiasm and participation in the democratic process.
The subdued mood, according to Mundubile, reflects broader concerns about the economy and could influence voter turnout, campaign activities, and the overall tone of the election.
Meanwhile, Mundubile and his running mate Makebi Zulu have arrived at Ephendukeni Palace in Feni to honour and bid farewell to Paramount Chief Mpezeni IV, a father of unity to the Ngoni people of Eastern Province, Malawi and Mozambique.
