SHADRECK KASANDA DECLARES NEUTRALITY, DECLINES TO ENDORSE MUNDUBILE

Prominent Zambian businessman Shadreck Kasanda has distanced himself from active politics, declaring that he will not endorse any political candidate, including Brian Mundubile, ahead of the August 13 General Election.
Speaking during a live broadcast on Zambia We Want, Kasanda said he remains focused on business and has no intention of participating in partisan politics, despite speculation that he would publicly back Mundubile’s candidacy.
The businessman said his greatest concern is the growing trend of young people being used as instruments of political violence, urging political players to promote peace and responsible engagement during the election period.
Kasanda encouraged young people to channel their energy into entrepreneurship and productive ventures instead of political confrontations, saying economic empowerment offers a more sustainable path to a better future.
“I’m a businessman who has no interest in politics whatsoever. What concerns me most is seeing young people being used as tools of violence by politicians. That is something we must stop,” he said.
He further invited ambitious youths to engage with him on serious business opportunities, saying he is committed to supporting initiatives that can improve livelihoods and create long-term economic opportunities.
Kasanda’s remarks come after widespread speculation on social media, where several opposition supporters, including former Petauke Member of Parliament Jay Jay Banda, Maxwell Chongu and Lilian Mutambo, claimed he was preparing to join their political alliance.
Popularly known as “King Shad,” Kasanda has built his reputation as one of Zambia’s successful entrepreneurs through investments in the gold and diamond trade, maintaining that his priority remains business development and youth empowerment.
