SENSELE MINE ACCIDENT: FOUR MORE BODIES RETRIVED

Four bodies of miners have been removed from tunnels at Sensele Mine in Chingola, as the search for the over 30 small scale miners who were trapped underground in December 2023 continues.

Copperbelt Permanent Secretary AUGUSTINE KASONGO has confirmed the removal of bodies to ZNBC News.

Mr KASONGO says the four bodies were removed from the same site where the 13 bodies and one survivor were retrieved.

He says the government is optimistic that more bodies will be removed from site one and two.

Mr. KASONGO says planning for a mass burial has begun as families try to identify the bodies.
