MAN NEARLY DIES TRYING TO RETRIEVE MONEY FROM PIT LATRINE

A 34-year-old man narrowly escaped death after he was trapped in a pitlatrine in sections 6 of Maloni village in Nakonde.

The incident happened when Telsy Chinki, a resident of Mulelani village in Tunduma, Tanzania, tried to help 57-year-old Michael Simpasa who accidentally dropped 20,000 Tanzanian shillings (equivalent to K200 Zambian Kwacha) into a toilet at George market while answering the call of nature.

He was found on the verge of unconsciousness covered in fecal matter.

At the time Chete FM reporters arrived at the scene the victim was sunbathing, seemingly unharmed, dressed in clothes given to him by the section chairman Micheal Chisha.
