RECRUITMENT PROCESS OF TEACHERS HICHILEMA GAVE JOBS AT RALLIES SUSPENDED
The Teaching Service Commission (TSC) has halted the ongoing recruitment of 2,000 teachers initially planned for 2025.
This decision comes as the Commission reassesses the total number of new teachers needed, following a directive from President Hakainde Hichilema to employ additional unemployed teachers identified during his election campaign rallies.
According to Daphne Chimuka, Chairperson of the Commission, the initial batch of 2,000 teachers had already been selected through District Human Resource Management Committees and had completed the formal selection process.
However, these recruits will now be integrated into this year’s broader recruitment plan, which aims to hire 3,500 teachers, effectively increasing the total intake to accommodate the President’s directive.
Before final appointments, the Commission will conduct thorough validation of the credentials of those recommended under the Presidential directive.
Only after these critical checks will the successful candidates be officially employed into the public education sector.
