Putin and Lukashenko Monitor Joint Russia-Belarus Tactical Nuclear Exercises
Russian President Vladimir Putin and Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenko are overseeing large-scale joint tactical nuclear drills between Russia and Belarus amid escalating tensions with NATO.
The exercises reportedly involve mobile Iskander-M missile systems, strategic troop deployments, and simulated tactical nuclear strike scenarios near NATO’s eastern flank.
The drills come as Moscow continues to warn the West against deeper military involvement in Ukraine, while Belarus has intensified coordination with Russian forces under what both sides describe as a “joint strategic defense posture.”
Military analysts say the exercises are intended to send a direct geopolitical message to NATO, particularly Poland and the Baltic states, as fears grow over the risk of miscalculation in Eastern Europe.
