PRESIDENT HICHILEMA WILL BE DEFEATED LIKE CHAKWERA OF MALAWI
Former Lumezi Member of Parliament Munir Zulu has cautioned the ruling United Party for National Development (UPND) against taking comfort in the sheer number of rallies it is conducting ahead of the August 13 general elections.
Speaking on his social media platform, Zulu argued that the decisive factor in the election outcome will be voter sentiment rather than campaign activity.
Drawing on the example of Malawi’s 2025 elections, he noted that despite the then ruling party of President Lazarus Chakwera holding significantly more rallies than opposition groups, it ultimately lost power.
He implicitly urged political actors to pay closer attention to the underlying public opinion dynamics rather than relying solely on the spectacle of campaign rallies.
