Confusion erupted yesterday at Limulunga Palace when Western Province Permanent Secretary, Akapelwa Simomo stormed the Kuta with a primitive request from Hakainde Hichilema. In his request, Akapelwa Simomo asked the BRE to drop Mwine Lubemba, Paramount Chief Chitimukulu as Guest of Honor and put Hakainde Hichilema despite his insults on the people of Barotseland and the Litunga recently.
Under any circumstance, President Hakainde Hichilema will arrive on Wednesday, 17th May, 2024..
The pressure was so much on the Ngambela and Nathaniel Mubukwanu who is the Kuomboka Kufuluhela National Organizing Committee Chairperson, urging then to use their position to drop Chief Chitimukulu and put Hakainde Hichilema as Guest of Honor. However, Nathaniel Mubukwanu who proved to be very cultured, indicated in the presence of the Ngambela that there is no way such a thing can happen because it will send a bad message to the Bemba Speaking People following the respect they had shown to the Lozis when they were accorded with the same invitation during Ukusefya pa Ng’wena in Northern Province.
Some BRE Indunas have also appealed to Mukela Manyando, the Ngambela of Barotseland to examine his close relationship with the UPND Government for it has the potential to destroy the reputation of the Litunga which has so far gained ground. Mukela Manyando should be firm just as Nathaniel Mubukwanu who even blasted the UPND Secretary General, Hon Batuke Imenda who went to the United States in the name of Prince of Barotse Royal Establishment, and started organizing events in Dallas without the blessings of BRE and the National Organizing Committee.
Consequently, we are also told some youths from Linyungandambo and Barotseland Imilemas almost organized to manhandle Mr Akapelwa Simomo after he was spotted in Limulunga palace on Sunday evening yesterday having a closed door meeting with the Ngambela and the chairperson for Kuomboka – Kufumuhela committee Prince Nathaniel Mubukwanu. The angered youths stressed that if this move to drop Chitimukulu as Guest of Honor will be successful or allow HH to be closer to the Litunga, people should be rest assured that they will be some crushes at Mulamba habour between UPND supporters and some Lozis who are still annoyed with HH’s utterances that there is no country called Barotseland.
In the photos below, you will see the PS Akapelwa Simomo during the Kuomboka Kufuluhela Fundraising Dinner putting on his usual casual dressing without even Lishushu and he repeated the same dressing during the recent functions where they chose Miss Kuomboka and Mr Kuomboka. It tells alot on how PS Simomo hates our Lozi culture and doesn’t want to give life to it. This is the very reason President Hakainde loves Simono, HH is in a mission to destroy the Kingdom of Barotseland and people like Simomo are so dear to him even when they can’t foster any development in Barotseland.
Anyway, people are watching since a warning has already been sounded not with the view of scaring BRE but strengthening them so that they do not bend torwards useless arrangements being propagated by enemies of their Kingdom.
