POWER GENERATION TO REDUCE THIS YEAR AT KARIBA – ZESCO

Zesco says electricity generation at the Kariba North Bank Power Station will this year reduce to 214 Mega Watts compared to 386 Mega Watts generated in 2023.

Zesco Managing Director VICTOR MAPANI says this follows the reduction in water levels in the Kariba Dam which will adversely affect generation at the Kariba North Bank Power Station.

Mr. MAPANI says the country has only been allocated EIGHT Billion Cubic Meters of water to use for electricity generation this year.

Speaking during a media briefing in Lusaka, Mr. MAPANI refuted reports that the country is experiencing load shedding.
