POLICE OFFICIALLY ARREST AND CHARGE ISAAC MUTALE WHO SHOT FRIEND DURING DRINKUP AT MALL
Police have officially arrested and charged ISAAC MUTALE, the man that shot his friend RICHARD DIZA during a drinking spree at The Black Pub and Grill in Lusaka.
Zambia Police Spokesperson RAE HAMOONGA says Mr. MUTALE has been charged with the offence of Acts Intended to cause grievous harm, contrary to Section 224(b) of the Penal Code Act Chapter 87 of the laws of Zambia.
Mr. HAMOONGA has told ZNBC news that Mr. MUTALE is in Police Custody awaiting court proceedings.
Yesterday, around 01:00 hours at Twin Palm Mall in Lusaka’s Salama park, Mr. MUTALE used a pistol to shoot and break his friend’s legs after the two picked up an argument at the ‘chill spot’.
The victim is admitted to LEVY MWANAWASA University Teaching Hospital in Lusaka.
Police recovered an empty cartridge and a bullet at the scene.
Meanwhile, Mr. HAMOONGA has urged management at drinking places not to allow patrons to enter with firearms.
He said armed patrons become a danger to others especially when they start discharging their firearms in a public place.
