Additionally, some individuals connected to the case are currently in custody for unrelated offences.

Bheki Cele acknowledged the high-profile nature of the case and underscored the need for a comprehensive investigation.

“What we know is that it’s a high-profile case. If we grab anyone without proper investigation and we let that person go, or the court says we didn’t do our work again, it will be a big story,” he said.

He cautioned against rushing the process, as it could compromise the integrity of the outcome.

The Police Minister addressed criticisms directed at law enforcement, assuring the public that the investigation is being conducted diligently.

Cele expressed his empathy for the South African people, who are seeking answers and closure in the wake of AKA’s untimely death. He assured them that the responsible individual will be arrested and held accountable for their actions. However, he cautioned against rushing the process, emphasizing the significance of a meticulous and comprehensive investigation.

“The person who killed AKA will be arrested, and the South Africans will be answered when the time comes. We do love that it might be a bit earlier, but that doesn’t mean we must do a harsh…harsh work so that we don’t finalise a proper outcome,” said Cele.
