PF MEMBERS ABANDON TONSE ALLIANCE, JOIN UPND IN CHIFUNABULI SOUTH
The United Party for National Development (UPND) in Chifunabuli South has continued to gain momentum after a group of former Patriotic Front (PF) members aligned with the Brian Mundubile and Makebi Zulu camp officially defected from the Tonse Alliance to the UPND.
The defectors were warmly received in Lubwe by Chifunabuli South aspiring Member of Parliament, Hon. Peter C. Kapala, who was accompanied by members of the UPND constituency leadership and party structures. Also present was Chifunabuli South Lubwe Ward aspiring Councillor, Alick Ng’ambi.
Speaking during the event, the new UPND members said they had lost confidence in the Tonse Alliance, citing what they described as a lack of vision, effective leadership, and clear direction. They said they had chosen to join the UPND because they believe President Hakainde Hichilema is providing responsible leadership and delivering meaningful development across the country. They also expressed confidence in Hon. Peter C. Kapala’s commitment to transforming Chifunabuli South.
Welcoming the new members, Hon. Kapala assured them that the UPND is a united and inclusive party that welcomes everyone committed to the development of Chifunabuli. He encouraged the defectors to work together with the party in advancing peace, unity, and sustainable development throughout the constituency.
The growing support for the UPND in Chifunabuli South reflects increasing confidence in the party’s development agenda as more citizens rally behind its vision for a prosperous Zambia.
