🚨 OVER 70 ZIMBABWEANS RETURN HOME FROM SOUTH AFRICA AFTER ALLEGED XENOPHOBIA ATTACKS, FEAR AND UNCERTAINTY AS HARARE STEPS IN TO ASSIST CITIZENS CROSSING BACK THROUGH BEITBRIDGE BORDER POST 🇿🇼🇿🇦

More than 70 Zimbabwean nationals have been assisted to return home through the Beitbridge Border Post as Zimbabwean authorities stepped up efforts to help citizens who wanted to leave South Africa and return to their families.

Many of the returnees reportedly said they had been living in fear and uncertainty, with some claiming that rising tensions and concerns about xenophobia had made life increasingly difficult. Several described the repatriation programme as a welcome opportunity to start over back home.

Footage shared by Zimbabwean media showed families, workers and young people arriving with bags and personal belongings before being processed and transported to different destinations across Zimbabwe.

The development comes as immigration and the treatment of foreign nationals continue to dominate public debate in South Africa, with growing calls for stronger border controls, while others warn against discrimination and violence targeting migrants.

For many of those returning, the journey home represents both relief and a chance to rebuild their lives closer to their families after months or years spent seeking opportunities across the border.

💬 What do you think is driving more Zimbabweans to return home — xenophobia fears, economic pressures, or a combination of both? 🇿🇼🇿🇦👇🔥
