NO DIVISION: WE REMAIN UNITED: BM8 Movement Gives Guidance Following NRPUP President Ezra’s Strange Stance

RE: GUIDANCE TO MEMBERS ON RECENT DEVELOPMENTS

The BM8 Movement wishes to address our members and the general public on two matters of national concern.

1. On the Statement Issued by NRPUP President, Mr. Ezra Tembo:

We urge our members to remain calm. We are not aware of the circumstances under which Mr. Tembo’s statement was issued, and a formal position will be communicated in due course, in consultation with the leadership. In the meantime, we appeal to our members to refrain from issuing statements or remarks that are injurious toward Mr. Tembo and Secretary General Mr. Nonde. This is a moment that calls for restraint, not division

2. On the Death of Hon. Mutotwe Kafwaya:
Those who knew Hon. Kafwaya knew him to have been a man who could not harm a fly. We join the nation in calling for justice and full accountability for what happened to him.

For now, we call on our members and all Zambians to put the Kafwaya family in prayers and to stand with them during this painful time.

3. Guidance to Elected Officials

All elected officials under the NRUP party and the Tonse Alliance are asked to get in touch with the Secretariat as soon as possible for further guidance.
We wish to reiterate that politics is a service to the people, not a contest.

Zambia needs to heal, and it needs to heal
