NG’OMA WARNS AGAINST SPREADING FALSEHOODS, CALLS FOR PEACE AFTER ELECTIONS

BuyZed Campaign Founder and Chief Executive Officer,  Ambassador Evans Kazonga Ng’oma has warned social media users against spreading falsehoods and hate speech, saying such actions can promote violence, tribalism and unnecessary panic among citizens.

Speaking during a media briefing in Lundazi today, Sunday 23rd August 2026, Mr Ng’oma also congratulated President-elect Hakainde Hichilema for being given another term by the people of Zambia.

Ambassador Ng’oma said elections are a democratic process of choosing leaders and should not be allowed to divide the country.

He thanked National Reconciliation Party for Unity and Prosperity (NRPUP) President Ezra Tembo for conceding defeat and congratulating the Head of State, describing the gesture as a sign of political maturity.

Mr Ng’oma urged all elected NRPUP candidates at various levels to prioritise development and focus on delivering services to the people who elected them, saying the campaign period has ended and it is now time to work.

He further condemned alleged militia activities involving some opposition leaders, saying such actions threaten the peace Zambia is known for.

The BuyZed Campaign has called for a thorough, professional and impartial investigation into allegations surrounding militia activities, illegal weapons and any alleged plans to destabilise Zambia.
