MALEMA SAYS ZIMBABWEANS ARE NOT THE REASON SOUTH AFRICANS ARE UNEMPLOYED, BLAMES GOVERNMENT FOR FAILURE TO CREATE JOBS
EFF leader Julius Malema has argued that South Africa’s unemployment crisis is being blamed on the wrong people, saying Zimbabweans and other foreign nationals are being used as scapegoats while the real problem is the government’s failure to grow the economy and create jobs.
Malema said thousands of young South Africans graduate from universities every year but remain unemployed because there are not enough job opportunities. He claimed that even when undocumented Zimbabweans were deported, unemployment continued to rise, which he says proves that foreigners are not the main cause of joblessness.
The EFF leader also took a swipe at President Cyril Ramaphosa, arguing that a lack of major economic development projects has contributed to the country’s unemployment challenges. According to Malema, the focus should be on industrialisation, investment and job creation rather than blaming migrants for South Africa’s economic struggles.
Do you agree with Malema that the government has failed to create enough jobs, or do you think undocumented immigration is still a major factor in unemployment?
