NAQEZ BACKS GOVT`S DECISION NOT TO ADVERTISE RECRUITMENT OF 4,200 TEACHERS
The National Action for Quality Education in Zambia- NAQEZ has backed the ministry of education`s decision not to advertise the 2024 teacher recruitment of the 4,200 teachers.
Education Minister Douglas Syakalima yesterday announced that his ministry will not advertise the 2024 teacher recruitment of the 4,200 teachers but instead rely on the information in the database of applicants who applied in the previous recruitment.
NAQEZ Executive Director Dr. Aaron Chansa says apart from removing the cost on candidates who have been applying for many years, this move will also give more chances to those whose attempts to join the government have not been succeeding.
Dr. Chansa says if effectively done, the announced model will be much quicker and efficiently progress on the part of the teaching service commission.
He has however warned that government must trade carefully on this sensitive matter as the exercise has the potential to attract mistrusts, suspicious and serious finger pointing among stakeholders.
