Lamine Yamal’s £9.5million home in Barcelona was targeted by burglars hours after his victory

Lamine Yamal’s £9.5million home in Barcelona was targeted by burglars hours after his victory with Spain over France in their World Cup semi-final, with police in Catalonia opening an investigation into the attempt.

Two hooded thieves were spotted on the walls of the mansion in upmarket suburb Esplugues de Llobregat, but their break-in attempt was thwarted by Yamal’s private security team who spotted the individuals just in time.

The attempted crime reportedly happened at around 4am local time on Wednesday morning, and the Criminal Investigation Division has now taken over the case using CCTV images of the property.

Yamal’s mansion was previously owned by former Barcelona defender Gerard Pique and his then-partner pop star Shakira.

The 3,800 square foot house boasts indoor and outdoor swimming pools, a tennis court, and a home recording studio, with Yamal posting pictures of the lavish property on Instagram.

The Barcelona superstar joins a number of football stars who have been the victims of break-ins over the last few months, including two of his teammates.
