LAMECK BANDA’S U.S. LECCE MANAGER AXED AFTER VERONA CLASH.

Lameck Banda’s U.S. Lecce manager, Roberto D’Aversa, has been dismissed from his position after an altercation following the team’s 1-0 loss to Hellas Verona yesterday.

D’Aversa was involved in an incident where he appeared to head-butt Verona’s striker Thomas Henry during a tense confrontation after the match. This action occurred in full view of match officials while D’Aversa was attempting to intervene in an argument between Henry and Lecce defender Marin Pongracic.

Banda, has enjoyed regular game time under the manager.

He played for 70 minutes in yesterday’s match and strived to engineer opportunities for a turnaround. However, he picked up his fifth yellow card of the season, resulting in his exclusion from the squad’s upcoming trip to face Salernitana next weekend.

U.S. Lecce’s recent form has been poor, with four defeats in their last five matches, plummeting to 16th place in the table with 28 points from 25 matches, just one point above the relegation zone.

As the club seeks a new manager, Banda and team, aim to rebound swiftly and distance themselves from the threat of relegation.
