Kim Jong Un Pledges to Accelerate North Korea’s Nuclear Expansion
North Korean state media, KCNA, reported that leader Kim Jong Un has vowed to further accelerate the expansion of the country’s nuclear arsenal following the conclusion of a three-day plenary meeting of the ruling Workers’ Party of Korea.
According to the report, Kim stated that the only way for North Korea to cope with the increasingly unpredictable global security environment is to fully uphold its status as a nuclear-armed state.
He reaffirmed that the party and government remain firmly committed to rapidly strengthening and expanding the country’s nuclear forces, describing them as a “100 percent reliable deterrent” essential for safeguarding national security.
The announcement signals Pyongyang’s continued determination to enhance its strategic capabilities amid ongoing tensions on the Korean Peninsula and growing geopolitical uncertainty.
